The benefits and gains of this initiative are shared between those who are in charge of the administration and function of the lodge. Tomarapi Ecolodge has the capacity to house 35 people and contains 11 rooms. Every room offers electricity, private bathrooms, hot water, heating and cooling, and alimentation services. Tomarapi Ecolodge is an excellent initiative for the communities that live around the protected regions of the country and has demonstrated the viability of a model of communal touristic development based on the customs and culture of its inhabitants.

08:00 AM – Personal pickup from your hotel in the city of La Paz and then private transport to the National Park of Sajama; during the trip, we will travel along the highlands, passing through the village of Patacamaya until we arrive to a detour that will take us to the village of Sajama. We will visit the chullpas (pre-Colombian funeral tombs) and the colonial Church of Curahuara de Carangas – known as the “Sixteenth Chapel of the Highlands.” The Sixteenth Chapel of the Highlands is called such because of the quality of the artwork which is found in the interior of the church and whose paintings cover the walls, making the place look like a biblical scene. After visiting the church, we will continue to the Valle de las Rocas (Valley of the Rocks in English) which is a place with unique and amazing rock formations.
