It’s the moment in which the Andean New Year begins – with the voice of our ancestors in the eternal song of the hearts of our Mother Earth and of the Universe – Pachamama and Pachakama, united in harmony – with the bright rays of the Sun and the hope of unity in the Universe that inspires us to unite our hearts in glee and for an understanding of the sacred Eternal Adventure to Purity; in this new time, it is important to assume the generational responsibility of being personal beings and also bridges that form part of the reordering of life in this process of Pachakuti.

03:30 am – Personal pickup from your hotel/hostel in the center of La Paz to start the trip via an asphalted highway to Tiwanaku (the trip is approximately 1.5-2 hours via transport). Upon arrival to Tiwanaku, we will head to the religious center to wait for our entrance in line. We will then visit the Temple of the Standing Stones where we will stand with hundreds of national and international tourists and wait patiently with arms extended for the sun-rays to come out with the Sun’s rising; the significance of this waiting is that it is believed that new energy can be obtained in order to have a prosperous new year. We will also encounter various native musical groups brightening the grand celebration to receive the Andean New Year while we participate in the principal ceremonial offering to the Tayta Inti along with the Andean bishops. After celebrating and receiving the Andean New Year, we will visit the Archaeological Center of Tiwanaku, and then afterwards we will have breakfast – then take some time to enjoy the rest of the ceremony. In the afternoon, we will return to La Paz.
PM – Arrival to La Paz (approximate arrival).
